Baked in a Canton kitchen
Sugar & Slate is Megan Price, baking from a registered home kitchen in Canton since 2021. Everything is made to order in small batches — there's no freezer full of sponges — and every product carries full allergen information.
Collection is from the kitchen door Tuesday to Saturday. Deliveries go out across Cardiff and Penarth on Fridays and Saturdays, and letterbox brownies are posted anywhere in the UK.
Questions people ask
How much notice do you need for a celebration cake?
Two weeks for birthday and christening cakes, six to eight weeks for weddings. Brownie, cupcake and Welsh cake boxes ordered by Wednesday are ready from Friday the same week.
Do you deliver?
Yes — £4 within Cardiff and Penarth on Fridays and Saturdays, free on orders over £60. Celebration cakes are delivered by hand and set up at the venue for £15 within Cardiff. Letterbox brownies are posted UK-wide.
Can you cater for allergies?
Gluten-free and vegan brownies and cupcakes are available to order. Everything is made in a kitchen that handles gluten, egg, milk, soya and nuts, so I can't guarantee anything is free from traces — please ask before ordering for a severe allergy.
How do I pay?
Boxes, vouchers and classes are paid by card at checkout through Stripe. Celebration cakes take a 50% deposit by bank transfer or card link when you confirm, and the balance a week before collection.
Where do I collect?
From the kitchen in Canton, CF5 — the exact address is in your confirmation email. Tuesday to Friday 9–5, Saturday 9–1.
